The Senior HRIS Analyst, Workday is responsible for the architecture, configuration, maintenance and optimization within the Workday tenant with a focus on Human Resources functionality. This position leads business consultation and configuration excellence across several designated HR modules, including core HCM, Recruiting, Time, Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Talent Management, and Payroll.
This is a hands on role that spans multiple HRIS technologies (primarily Workday) and can range from supporting Shared Services tickets to system architecture and leadership of projects. The role has a wide range and variety of work, giving broad exposure to multiple areas of the business. It requires both strong technical aptitude and exceptional collaboration and communication strengths.
• Leads business consultations and requirements gathering sessions for system solution requests, including new or enhanced reports, optimizations, break fixes, and new feature adoptions. Documents business and system requirements, solutions options, test scripts and results. Develops and executes strong testing plans to ensure quality work and deliverables.
• Identifies solutions to enable business processes and needs, which are primarily contained to Workday tenant but also extends to additional periphery HRIS technologies such as the Learning Management System (LMS), governmental reporting portals, background check vendor platforms, etc.
• This position also supports human resources and other subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity through user enablement, training, development of user guides, testing, change management, and auditing.
• Provides generalized support for Shared Services user tickets. Ticketing platform includes supporting Workday technology issues, as well as all other HRIS technologies and general HR needs.

System architecture and configuration to design, build, optimize and continuously improve Workday tenant

  • Act as a key business partner and consultant with HR and other business partners to identify and implement process improvements that can improve business outcomes through HRIS technology.
  • Lead business consultations and requirement gathering sessions with business partners to gather and agree upon requirements, project/effort scope, timelines and communication cadence.
  • Make design recommendations.  Develop and execute strong testing and implementation plans.
  • Partners with key stakeholders to evaluate other potential impacts of proposed configuration changes and collaborate to ensure quality deliverables enterprise wide.
  • Implement and document configuration changes.
  • Develop user guides and user training as appropriate for design changes, where change management implications are expected.
  • Increase data integrity by analyzing metrics, building dashboards, conducting audits to identify issues, providing root cause resolutions.

Human resources functional partner support and general HRIS technology support for other systems

  • Provide day to day support to the human resources team and other functional groups with report administration and system enhancements within Workday.
  • Respond to new and changing business needs by gathering requirements from business leads and completing corresponding configuration changes.
  • Collaborate with key partners with periphery systems that depend on Workday data, such as IT (PowerBI Dashboards) and Finance (FINS). Coordinates with IT Workday partners for integration requirements and maintenance.
  • In collaboration with total rewards and IT Workday partners, will partner on integrations (benefits, etc.) and assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues.

Project management

  • Acts as a project manager to manage both small and large/ complex technology related projects beginning with defining scope of work, impacts, configurations, testing, implementation, and user communication and training.
  • Run projects aligned to priorities and deadlines, keeping stakeholder well informed.
  • Leads others through the design process and testing process.
  • Key contributor and consultant on large projects and on implementations.

Reporting and analytics

  • Identify and establish reporting needs and opportunities based on the business initiative at hand.
  • Analyze, and report data trends, and share that information with stakeholders.
  • Liaison between the business and IT to identify and build solutions for the business analytics.
  • Maintains library of HCM-related reports in Workday, ensuring security access as needed.
  • Build configurations that generate solid, business relevant data.
  • Build both simple and complex reports based on business needs, satisfied both internal and external reporting needs.
  • Ensure configuration changes in design phase carry through to the appropriate reports.

Collaborate with enterprise Workday partners for system maintenance and improvement

  • In conjunction with Workday IT partner, stays abreast of Workday notifications, upgrades, feature releases, etc.  Ensure strong communication and follow up for implementation needs.
  • Key contributor to Workday feature release deployments, including review and research of planned updates, tests impacts in Sandbox and/or Preview tenants, recommends system enhancements to Director and business partners, completes configurations, maintains adoption planning documentation and configuration documentation.

User enablement and support

  • Evaluates changes impacts resulting from technology developments and changes and builds this into deployment plans.
  • Creates user procedure documents, recorded demos and other training materials.
  • Maintains job aid worklet and posts documents to Sharepoint.
  • Presents live and recorded training sessions.
  • Delivers dashboards and reports to assist in user enablement.
  • Responds to and resolves  user tickets in Shared Services ticketing platform by performing root cause analysis and corresponding configuration adjustments, break / fix needs, or providing general HR support for needs.  This also includes ticketing support for all HRIS needs and general HR needs.
  • Analyzes support trends to identify opportunities for system optimizations and user training.

Data integrity and system readiness capabilities

  • Develop configurations that support business growth and enable flexibility in future.
  • Develop dashboards and other audit mechanisms to check for and prevent data integrity issues.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure data integrity and take efforts to preserve data integrity and system health.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Required Degree:   Bachelor's degree in related field.

   

Certificate(s):

  • Workday Pro certificate in HCM is strongly preferred, but can be obtained within the first 6 months.

Experience: 

  • 5+ years’ Workday administration experience; 4+ years configuration in HCM, Payroll, Advanced Comp, Talent, and Recruiting configuration experience preferred
  • Experience with developing and writing advanced Workday HCM reports is required, including matrix reports.
  • Experience consulting as a business partner with subject matter experts and gathering design requirements is required.
  • Previous experience as an HR practitioner/ HR knowledge or education is preferred.
  • Experience in Health Care, Senior Living or related field is preferred.
  • Experience with project management highly preferred.

  • Knowledge across multiple Workday modules to include HCM, Recruiting, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Time, Absence, Talent Management, Payroll.
  • Ability to think critically and perform complex configurations in Workday.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently and efficiently configure effective HRIS solutions.
  • Understanding of cross functional concepts and impacts (security, reporting).
  • Ability to understand complex technical issues and convey them to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to effectively translate user requirements into technical specifications and to translate technical language into user-friendly lay language for a broad audience.
  • Ability to research, quickly learn, and analyze information, make recommendations, document and present information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work with limited direction or supervision, take initiative, plan and carry out responsibilities, organizing own schedule and duties in order to complete responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and utilize sound judgment.
  • Skilled in accurate, timely documentation.
  • Skilled in written and verbal English communication, including skilled in training communications and user guides.
  • Ability to plan and execute projects on time and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and highly organized, with ability to prioritize and implement on time.
  • Ability to work as part of a broader team and engage effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to guide users through troubleshooting exercises to find solutions to their problems.
  • Ability to work successfully in a highly matrixed organization that values relationships and effective communication.
  • Highly skilled in problem solving, root cause analysis, and implementation of solutions.
  • Highly skilled in in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.  Advanced Excel skills preferred.
